Building Biology Australia has been helping source and reduce building
environment health hazards for the last 10 years in both residential
and commercial buildings.
One of the
three services offered by Building Biology Australia is a Building Environment Inspection.
Many buildings can contribute to Sick Building Syndrome and the only
way to properly reduce this concern is through a comprehensive
investigation of the built environment.
This includes measuring the building Indoor Air Quality using a Carbon
Dioxide meter, Air Particulate counter, and a Volatile Organic Compound
(VOC) meter amongst others.

Mould can be sourced and samples taken for laboratory analysis and
moisture problems and intrusion measured before mitigation advice can
be given.

Other factors to improve the building environment and occupant health
consist of measuring the electromagnetic climate within the building.
This includes using meters to source both Static and AC Electric
Fields, AC Magnetic Fields and Radio Frequency Field strengths.
Reductions in these field strengths often require the installation of
EMF Shielding Materials and advice about the best way to reduce these
fields can be given.
Building Biology Australia has the equipment, the experience and the
know how to advise on the best way to create a safer building
environment not only for residences but also for commercial buildings,
helping to reduce Sick Building Syndrome and improve occupant
productivity.
A building environment inspection will investigate and document sources
of indoor environment concerns, then provide advice and guidance for
the mitigation of the problem/s found.
By minimising and reducing the most obvious of the building environment
health hazards, the overall living and working environment improves and
the potential for illness connected to the building can be reduced for
the occupant/s.
